Health Education and Early Detection of Non-Communicable Diseases: A Participatory Approach to Raising Community Awareness

The aim of this community service project is to raise awareness in Padangsambian Klod Village about the importance of early detection of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and their risk factors. The major problem to be solved will be a lack of access to health and poor health awareness for prevention of the diseases. The intervention includes health education on lifestyles and management of risk factors for NCDs, using interactive sessions, which is complemented by free basic health screening: blood pressure, blood sugar, and body mass index. Preliminary results indicate that X% of the respondents have been involved in the education sessions, and Y% of the population suffers from high blood pressure, while Z% had high blood sugar levels, and W% have a BMI out of the normal range. The program has provided the opportunity for successful community education about their health and the benefit of early detection of diseases.

Nephrolytisis is spread in various regions in Asia and some developed countries with a prevalence ranging from 5 to 19.1. Herbs widely developed in several countries such as Plantago major (spoon leaf), Orthosiphon stamineus (cat whiskers), Sonchus arvensis (tempuyung), and Strobilanthes crispus (vile bezel) are empirically reported to decompose kidney stones and increase urine flow thereby aiding in elimination through urine. The use of this plant is formulated in a simple way such as brewing or boiling, then filtering, and then drinking water. The purpose of this community service is to provide counseling and training in making herbal products such as cat whisker leaves and tempuyung leaves for kidney stone decay to the community, especially cadre women in Patianrowo Village, Nganjuk Regency. With this counseling, it is hoped that the community will understand the use of herbal plants and the manufacture of herbal products, cat whisker leaves and tempuyung leaves for kidney stone decay. Participants of this counseling were given material about kidney stones and examples of herbal plants for the treatment of kidney stones directly and supported in active discussions. The activity began with the creation of information media, knowledge surveys to groups of cadre women, education on the use of herbal plants for the treatment of kidney stones and the manufacture of herbal products, evaluation and making final reports. From the results of the education, it is known that it has increased public knowledge of the manufacture of herbal products, cat whiskers, whiskers, and tempuyung leaves for kidney stones.

Penyakit degeneratif merupakan penyakit kronis yang muncul akibat perubahan sel secara degeneratif. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah radikal bebas. Upaya untuk menangkal radikal bebas adalah dengan mengkonsumsi banyak antioksidan yang bisa diperoleh dari bahan alam seperti bunga telang. Bunga telang dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi berbagai produk makanan maupun minuman yang kaya antioksidan. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan pelatihan kepada kader PKK terkait pengolahan bunga telang untuk dijadikan produk minuman celup yang dapat dikomersilkan. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan terbagi menjadi 6 tahap utama yaitu, pretest, penyampaian materi, pelatihan pembuatan simplisia, pelatihan pengemasan produk, pelatihan pelabelan produk dan posttest. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi pretest dan posttest dari kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah memberikan peningkatan pengetahuan dan kemampuan kader dalam menghasilkan produk bunga telang yang dapat dikomersilkan

GERAKAN ZERO TB ”APOTEKER BERTAMU” DI DESA BULUREJO KABUPATEN JOMBANG 2025

Gerakan Zero TB "Apoteker Bertamu" di Desa Bulurejo, Kabupaten Jombang, merupakan sebuah inisiatif yang bertujuan untuk memerangi tuberkulosis (TB) melalui intervensi kesehatan berbasis komunitas dengan melibatkan peran aktif apoteker. Program yang direncanakan pada tahun 2025 ini berfokus pada deteksi dini, edukasi kesehatan, dan peningkatan kepatuhan pengobatan TB untuk mencapai eliminasi TB di desa tersebut. Apoteker berperan sebagai ujung tombak dengan melakukan kunjungan rumah, memberikan penyuluhan tentang TB, serta memastikan tata laksana pengobatan yang tepat. Kegiatan diawali dengan penyusunan materi dan soal sebagai instrument. Pada pelaksanaannya, tim memberikan pretestt dan postest untuk menganalisis tingkat pengetahuan siswa mengenai kepatuhan minum obat. Hasil pretest dan postest kemudian dilakukan pengujian Paired Sample T-test yang mendapatkan hasil nilai Sig. (2- tailed) 0,001 ((Sig. (2-tailed) < 0,05). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut terlihat terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil sebelum dan sesudah pemberian materi. Pemberian perlakuan berupa pemaparan materi terkait kepatuhan minum obat memberikan pengaruh yang bermakna terhadap tingkat pengetahun pasien dan pendamping minum obat pasien

PENTINGNYA PENGGUNAAN SUNSCREEN PADA REMAJA DI SMP 1 MUHAMMADIYAH MLATI

Banyak efek langsung dan tidak langsung yang merugikan dari radiasi UV pada kulit. Penggunaannya tabir surya bisa membantunya dalam perlindungan kulit dari sinar ultraviolet.Penggunaan tabir surya disarankan oleh Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) sebagai langkah pencegahan terhadap paparan sinar matahari. Kegiatan penelitian ini diikuti oleh 27 siswa dan siswi SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Mlati Jogjakarta, yang terbagi menjadi 2 kelas yaitu 17 peserta dari kelas VIII dan 10 peserta dari kelas IX. Hasil posttest peserta dengan kategori baik sebesar (92,59%). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa sosialisasi terkait manfaaat penggunaan sunscreen dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa tentang pentingnya penggunaan sunscreen setiap hari.

Stunting is one of the health problems that the government is currently aggressively targeting. The short and long term impact of stunting which causes disruption of child growth makes it a top priority that must be resolved. One of the efforts to prevent stunting is the distribution of halal nutrition. Distribution of halal nutrition can be started from the fulfilment of animal protein from eggs. Giving eggs for 30 days can improve children who are close to stunting. Through community service activities with education and real action, halal nutrition can provide benefits to the community to prevent stunting. The result of this activity is an increase in community knowledge about the importance of providing halal food for children, and there is a concrete form of halal food examples to prevent stunting. Community service activities carried out together with PGRI Madiun University and the community have a positive impact on the community.
